Terms of use
What follows comes down to one idea: aftermatch puts a team ritual in your hands, and a ritual is something you respect. These terms say what you may do, what you may not, and what happens when someone crosses the line.

These pages cover three addresses: aftermatch.be, the site you are reading; app.aftermatch.be, the app your team uses; club.aftermatch.be, the club space.
What you accept, and when
By joining a team, voting or administering a club, you accept these terms. One thing to know: the app makes you tick no box and keeps no record of your acceptance. We will fix that, and until then we would rather say so than invoke an agreement we cannot show.
Your account
One account per person, in your own name, with an email address you actually read. There is no open sign-up in the app: you get in through a team's invitation link. Do not lend your account, and do not pass an invitation link outside the group it was meant for - it lasts seven days and opens the whole squad.
If you are staff and you add players
You can add a player with only their first and last name: they become votable at the next match without having done anything. That is convenient, and it is a responsibility - yours, not ours. You must tell the person, must not enrol them against their will, and must remove them if they ask. You cannot upload their photo: the app does not allow it, and that is not an oversight.
The ritual, and what cannot be replayed
One ballot per match and per person, editable while the votes are open. You do not vote for yourself. Only the team's staff closes the votes and runs the count, and neither step can be undone: once the votes are closed no further ballot gets in, including that of a player still on the road. Read the number of ballots the confirmation announces before you confirm - that is where it is decided, and support has no way back.
What you do not write in a reason
A reason is about a match: positioning, a missed pass, a marking job, a lazy stick. It is not about a body, an origin, a faith, an orientation, a disability, health, family or private life. No insults, no threats, no harassment, no score-settling, nothing that would not stand being said out loud in front of the team - because that is exactly what happens: your sentence gets read aloud at the clubhouse, and stays readable afterwards. Write it with that in mind.
Reporting, and what follows
There is no report button in the app yet: the channel is contact@aftermatch.be, with the team, the match and the sentence in question. A human reads and replies. Depending on how serious it is, we remove the reason, issue a warning, suspend an account, or close a team's or a club's access. The team's staff is told in every case - they run the changing room, we do not.
The count stays at the clubhouse
What is read out during the ceremony is said in front of the people there, and stops there. Do not film it, do not stream it, do not copy the reasons into a WhatsApp group or onto social media. The club-house screen is no exception: it is part of the room. It shows the names and the votes as they climb, never a reason - those stay on the staff's phone, who reads them aloud, because a sentence heard once at the bar is not read again, not photographed, and does not turn up on a wall three days later. The only thing built to leave the room is the best-player card: the screen displays inside the room and makes nothing that leaves it.
Photos
You upload yours, and only yours: it is your face, your call, and you take it down whenever you like. A club or partner logo may only be uploaded if the club has the right to use it. No photo of someone else, no image you do not hold the rights to, no shocking content: what goes in there ends up on your team's phones. And whether it goes onto the club-house screen is your call too: the setting is in your profile, it is off by default, and the screen shows your shirt number instead.
Claiming a club
Creating a team gives no rights over the club: teams are only attached to it. To administer a club you must claim its space, and the request is reviewed by hand, with a call-back on an official club channel. Declaring a mandate you do not have is grounds for refusal, for immediate closure of access, and depending on the case for a report to the club concerned. When a space opens, every member of the club is told by name, and any of them may file an appeal, with no deadline. A person reads it and decides. We can withdraw an access at any time.
Money
The ritual is free for teams, with no conditions and no cap on players: voting, closing, counting, recording matches, checking the season and its rankings. The plan a club subscribes to never restricts what its teams see in the app. What is sold is a club's space - its colours, its partners, the administration of its teams. Plans, prices and billing rules are presented to the club at the time of subscribing and are covered by separate terms of sale. Nothing is paid online today. If a club stops paying it falls back to Discovery: nothing is deleted, and its teams keep the whole app.
What we do not guarantee
The service is provided as it is. We do not guarantee permanent availability, nor that a reminder arrives on time: as long as the app does not ask for the kick-off time, the time reminders go out is approximate, so do not let your evening depend on the push. We also do not guarantee counting without a network: voting works out of coverage, counting needs a connection. If your clubhouse is a black hole, plan for it.
Closing an account, a team, a club
You can ask for your account to be closed at privacy@aftermatch.be; there is no button in the app yet, and the request is handled by hand. Staff can archive a player: they drop out of ongoing votes and rankings, and their already-counted history does not move. On our side, we can suspend an account, a team or a club for a serious breach of these terms, after warning you except in an emergency. When a club closes, its teams keep their ritual: it is the administration space that goes dark, not the pitch.
Your age, and what it changes
Your date of birth is asked at first login, and it is required. Signing up is open from 13; profiles under 13 fall to a parent or legal guardian, and the space that will allow it does not exist yet - until then, such a profile stays pseudonymised on everything that is shared. From 13 to 17, showing your photo or your full name on shareable content requires your consent and that of one of your parents; without both, you appear pseudonymised. A shared card circulates outside the app and cannot be recalled: withdrawing a consent applies to content generated after that withdrawal.
If these terms change
We date them at the top of the page. A change affecting what you can do, or what we can do with your account, is announced in the app before it applies. If you disagree, you can leave: it is free in both directions.
Governing law
Belgian law applies, and the legal notice says which court. Before it gets that far, write to us at contact@aftermatch.be: in a world where a hundred and fifty clubs all know each other, a dispute costs more than a phone call.
